The 22nd annual Cape Town Jazzathon is on at the V&A Waterfront.

The ‘People’s Festival’ as the Jazzathon is fondly known kicked-off yesterday at the V&A Amphitheatre and will run until Sunday January 13.

Entrance to the event is free.

The programme features emerging artists, women in jazz, more than 20 live bands and over 200 musicians performing over 4 days and includes workshops and panel discussions.

The Jazzathon has already hosted eight monthly workshops including a festival operations training course and business training, offered to post-matric learners and unemployed youth.

The Jazzathon runs from 11:30am to 11:30pm daily.
