The Indoni Dance Academy and their outreach groups will give a free public performance on Wednesday May 1 (Workers’ Day) at Green Point Urban Park, at 3pm.
Having gone through a rigorous three years of training, the Indoni dancers have been given the challenge of passing on their teaching and leadership skills through outreach training programmes to groups of youngsters in Khayelitsha, Philippi, Langa, Wallacedene and Imizamo Yethu.
These young dancers will join their role models in the performances of contemporary African dance which will celebrate the beauty of Cape Town parks.
The Indoni Dance, Arts and Leadership Academy was established in 2014 and offers both classroom-based and on-the-job training. The academy seeks to promote the arts as a channel for economic, personal and professional development, rekindling hope and providing dignity and life skills to young people.
