Whether you’re new to whisky or a seasoned connoisseur, there is a whisky to tantalise your tastebuds at this year’s Whisky Live event taking place at The Lookout, Granger Bay, from today, Thursday April 6 until Saturday April 8, from 6pm to 10pm.
Tickets include 16 whisky tasting vouchers, a glass, a bottle of Consol Glass water and a complimentary cocktail from the Consol whisky-inspired pop-up cocktail bar. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketpros.co.za at R200 each and cost R230 at the door. Those who download Whizzky Whisky Scanner App and answer a few simple questions will also receive five additional tasting vouchers.

Here’s something to try at home.
Ingredients:
8 mint leaves
37.5ml Scottish Leader Signature whisky
50ml cloudy apple juice
12.5ml honey or honey syrup
Dash of fresh lemon juice
Cubed ice
Method:
Place the mint leaves into a cocktail shaker. Pour the honey or honey syrup over the leaves. Using a muddle stick, press the mint leaves and honey together. Fill the shaker with cubed ice. Pour the Scottish Leader Signature whisky and apple juice over the mixture. Add a dash of fresh lemon juice. Close the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Fill a short glass with cubed ice and pour the mixture over the ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
