Hundreds of runners dressed in black ran 5km and 10km routes along the Sea Point Promenade on Saturday September 7 to add their voice to the call for an end to violence against women and children. Organised by the Adidas Runners, anyone was free to join the initiative which started with a talk reflecting on the recent spate of violent crimes involving women and the groundswell of anger and pain which had been expressed through public protests throughout the week and a mass gathering at Parliament on Thursday September 5.Â
