All aboard for Blue Train fun

More than 500 people shared in the Rotary Family Fun Day at the Blue Train Park in Sea Point, at the weekend.

It was a chance for the public to meet Rotarians and hear about the sort of work they do.

The bakkie the Rotary Club of Newlands donated to the Emergency Assistance Volunteer Support (EVS) earlier this year was on display and youngsters had a chance to meet some volunteer fire fighters.

Visitors to the park also heard about the ShelterBox initiative, which provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.

Rotarian Dr Tony Davidson said, “It was a great day out for family and friends, and at the same time to hear more about and engage with some of the projects that Rotary are involved with. We look forward to an even better and busier Rotary Family Fun Day next year!”
