All star performance

■ The Cape Town International Jazz Festival Sustainable Training and Development All Star Band​, pictured,​ was announced at Artscape on Sunday March 26​​. These are the best performers and artists from the various schools who together form a new band that ​played at ​yesterday’s annual free​ CTIJF​ concert on Greenmarket Square.The formation of the band is the culmination of the workshops that took place over February and is a true celebration of music – and a glimpse of the exceptional talent that will face the stages of the entertainment industry here and abroad in the years to come. The students ​shared the stage with En Vogue (USA), Mango Groove (South Africa), Moreira Chonguiça (Mozambique), 2017 Young Legends winner VuDu (South Africa) and SA Cothing and Textile Workers’ Union talent winner Danielle Jacobs (South Africa).​ The Cape Town International Jazz Festival takes places at the Cape Town International Convention Centre this Friday March 31 and Saturday ​April 1.
