Camps Bay High School matric pupil Junior Kidimbu was part of the Western Cape under-18 basketball team which was crowned South African National Champions in December. Kidimbu and the rest of his teammates travelled to Pretoria to take part in the inter-provincial SA National Basketball Championships. The team from the Western Cape beat North West to go through to the semi-finals to face Gauteng, whom they also beat. They then met a very tough team from KwaZulu-Natal in the finals but managed to come out on top, winning by five points.
