The Jacob Gitlin Library will host a book launch on Tuesday, February 11 at 6 pm at 88 Hatfield Street, Gardens.
The book,Roundabout by Elaine Durbach is her debut novel – a beautiful love story about a couple who meet at Rhodes, cross paths in the USA, and settle – almost too late – in Kalk Bay.
Durbach is an award-winning journalist-turned-author. She was born in Zimbabwe, and grew up in Zambia, Lesotho, and South Africa.
A World Press Institute Fellowship took her to the United States, where she has lived and worked as an international correspondent and journalist for many years. Her work has included writing for Morning Group papers, the United Nations and the New Jersey Jewish News.
She will also be talking about the intersection of fact and fiction, and her perspective on living and working in the “fake news” era.
