Green Point was filled with a great vibe, rich colours, musical talent and community spirit at this year’s Cape Town Carnival which took place on Saturday March 16. The annual carnival attracted thousands of visitors from across the Cape, and is a street parade that showcases and celebrates the diversity of Cape Town and South Africa. For several hours more than 50 energetic and talented community performance groups, spectacular floats, giant puppets and extravagant costumes brought the Green Point Fan Walk alive. This year’s theme, Vuka Ukhanye: Arise and Shine!, was a culmination of brainstorming sessions with everyone involved in the Cape Town Carnival, and a call to action to shake off limiting beliefs.
