A 35-year-old man was arrested in Beach Road, Sea Point, on Wednesday March 20 for allegedly jamming cars.
This was after a man approached law enforcement officers and told them that he locked his vehicle with his remote and noticed a man standing close-by, continuously pressing something in his hand.
He then walked back to his car and found it was unlocked.
The officers and the complainant set about looking for the suspect.
When he was pointed out to the officers, he fled. A chase ensued and he was caught in possession of a remote.
He was taken to the police station where the complainant laid a charge against him.
It was discovered that the suspect had previously been charged for similar offences.
