Chefs do their part for Mandela Day

Staff package the soup for beneficiaries to pick up.

Despite still observing the national lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19, chefs at the Waterfront’s Table Bay Hotel opened their kitchens on Saturday to contribute to a national Mandela Day project. They aimed to make at least 1 000 litres of soup for the Chefs with Compassion Mandela Day Initiative. Mandela Day is marked annually on July 18, which was the late President Nelson Mandela’s birthday. The aim was to make 67 000 litres of soup to feed communities all over the country.
