Not only is it a new year, but it’s also a new decade.
Sadly the first month started off with load shedding. Because of Eskom, our country may soon be downgraded to “junk status”.
The question is, what is the government going to do about it? Eskom is after all a state-owned enterprise.
Instead of making excuses and blaming everything and everybody else for their mistakes and shortcomings, it’s time they make some new decade’s resolutions to pull Eskom together, fight corruption and get some “green power” from individual suppliers. Get some competition for Eskom instead of just bailing Eskom out every time with taxpayers’ hard-earned money. And, please, don’t let it stay just resolutions – actions speak louder than words.
What we all need now is action; we are all tired of empty promises.
