Bo-Kaap residents were among those screened and tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday, April 7.
The provincial Department of Health had started the coronavirus screenings and testing on Monday April 6, in line with President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize’s announcement of the programme.
The screenings are conducted door-to-door by trained field workers using simple verbal questions to identify people who may require testing.
The tests are done at a clinic or in a mobile station. Test results will not be immediately available but patients will be followed up with and advised of their status.
