Camps Bay High School will be sending out food parcels to pupils identified as being in need of assistance over this unexpected extended break from school. Principal Dave de Korte said above all else, they are a caring, community school and they recognised that the next couple of weeks may be quite tough for some pupils as the unplanned extended break will put additional financial pressure on their families, particularly those who do not receive other assistance from bursary programmes or sponsors. “So, we decided to put together a food hamper for these students, identified by their tutor teachers as possibly being in need of assistance,” he said. The school will be issuing these families with a food parcel every week for the next three weeks.
