Residents of Three Anchor Bay and Sea Point have until Monday July 29 to comment on the application to rezone erf 1432 on Glengariff Road, Three Anchor Bay.
The applicant, through D&S Planning Studios, has applied for the land to be rezoned from General Business Subzone (GB5) to General Business Subzone (GB6).
This will allow for a small increase in height on the building’s roof, resulting from the construction of rooftop structures. These will include planters, swimming pools, jacuzzies, decking and pergolas and will be for the private use of residents of the six approved penthouse units. The building is currently approved for a height of 25m, with the rooftop structures, if approved, making it 2m higher.
At 25m high, said the applicant, the building was taller than others in the immediate area and the rooftop structures would therefore not be visible from most surrounding properties. They added that the structures would not affect views of Table Mountain from the sea or promenade.
The application is open to inspection at the office of the district manager at Media City Building, 2nd Floor, corner of Adderley Street and Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town, 8001.
