Sea Point Primary School spent the week celebrating former president Nelson Mandela last week. On Mandela Day, Thursday July 18, the pupils spent the day giving back 67 minutes to the school, choosing from different projects in which they would give of their time. Some painted flower pots, while others cleaned playing areas, did gardening and cleaned the area around the school. They also took part in planting a new garden in their shaded areas and a veggie garden, learning about farming in the process. The school also held a “bread and spreads” collection for Little Brinks, collecting 176 loaves of bread and 150 sandwich spreads.
