After winning the National Robotics Championships in 2018 and participating in the World Championships in America earlier this year, the German International School Cape Town entered three robotics teams in the First Lego League Regional Competition at the Cape Town Science Centre, on Saturday October 26.

The school’s senior robotics team, ASAP, and two new junior teams, BSAP and CSAP, competed against 27 teams from across the Western Cape.

It was a long, hard day filled with last-minute programming and practising presentations but the pupils had tons of fun.

After three robot runs and three presentations per team, the judges finally announced the results.

The German School’s senior team, ASAP, placed first, winning the Champions Award as well as the Project Innovation Award. On top of that, the junior team, CSAP, won the Programming Award, meaning that both teams qualified for the national championships, to be held in the first week of December.
