District Six resident Jadon Lee Harilall beat 34 culinary students to earn the title of Chef of the Year in the One&Only Reaching for Young Stars 2021 competition.
The awards for the 11th instalment of the cooking competition was held at the One&Only hotel last Thursday, September 2.
Mr Harilall will travel to Cape Cod in the USA to work at Winslow’s Tavern for a five-month internship.
The Pastry Chef of the Year, Saudiqah Gelandt, of Kraaifontein,will do a three-month internship at Château La Creuzette in Boussac, France.
