Paraglider injured on mountain

A paraglider was rescued on top of Platteklip Gorge on Saturday August 17.

Table Mountain National Parks spokesperson, Lauren Clayton, has confirmed that South African National Parks rangers and Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) paramedics assisted with rescue operations of a paragliding incident on top of Platteklip Gorge on Saturday August 17.

Ms Clayton said the paraglider was placed on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital for further assessments of his ankle injury.

Ms Clayton said they could not comment on what led to the incident and or injury and only the paraglider can issue a statement.

Attempts to get hold of
the paraglider were unsuccessful.
