Police thank residents for co-operation

Sea Point police acting station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Christo Engelbrecht, thanked SAPS staff and the public for their contribution in reducing crime in the Green Point and Sea Point areas.

LieutenantColonelEngelbrecht said another year has flashed by and they are standing at the door of a new year, with new goals and activities.

“Due to the grace of our Almighty God, no member at the Sea Point police station was killed in the line of duty,” he said.

With pride, Lieutenant Colonel Engelbrecht said it can be said that the majority of their members are doing everything in their power to make Sea Point a better place to live and work.

“This was evident during an event in which our members were rewarded, namely the medal parade, where several members were honoured for their loyal service,” he said

“On behalf of management and members of the Sea Point police station, we want to thank the community for their co-operation throughout the year – we need to take hands against crime.

“We wish the residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May you experience a joyful and safe festive season, either at home or on your journey to other provinces. Always stay alert and vigilant of your surroundings, and trust your intuition,” he said

He said residents can be assured that they have all the resources in place to safeguard them and their properties. He sent out a strong message to criminals that a zero tolerance approach against crime is in place, no matter how big or small.
