Executive Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille will host an inter-faith prayer service for the recent much-needed rains that Cape Town has experienced.

In May 2017, when dam levels were dangerously low, Ms De Lille called on the interfaith community to pray for rain.

While are dams still have some way to go to fully recover from the drought, the city has experienced some good rains in recent weeks while residents and businesses continue to be an important partner in using water sparingly.

The prayer service will be hosted on Table Mountain tomorrow where the City of Cape Town will thank everyone for their efforts and ask that the prayers for rain continue.

The service will start at 2pm.

Currently, Cape Town dams have reached the 60% mark.

This is the first time in more than 18 months that all dams servicing the city have reached this combined landmark.
