Six arrested for robbery, theft

The six suspects were arrested for various crimes.

A 28-year-old man was arrested last Friday, October 16, for attempted theft out of a car, in Hatfield Road, Gardens.

Cape Town Central police station Sergeant Louis Teixeira was patrolling when he saw the man throwing something at the window of a stationary white Polo.

He gave chase in the police vehicle and the man attempted to flee on foot.

Sergeant Teixeira arrested the man and took him back to the car where he found the back window broken.

Three women, aged 23, 29 and 62, who were allegedly part of a group that broke into a business in Castle Street, Cape Town, in May 2018 were arrested on Thursday October 15.

The group had stolen 75 backpacks, two grey jackets, three long brown jackets and four school bags worth approximately R7 000.

Two men, aged 29 and 32, were arrested after a man and woman were robbed at gunpoint on Loop Street, towards Church Street on Sunday October 18.

It was found the men were wanted for a theft out of motor vehicle which occurred in October 2018, in Kloof Street, Tamboerskloof.

This time, the suspects robbed the victim of a watch and bag with his Nikon camera, three lenses and a cellphone.
