Suspected burglars arrested

Tools that could be used to break into houses were confiscated in Sea Point.
Four suspects were arrested in Sea Point after they were found in possession of tools which could be used to break into houses, on Friday February 1.

Metro police officers spotted a VW Polo making an illegal U-turn. They also noticed that the number plate on the car matched that of a vehicle reported to be involved in housebreak-ins.

The officers stopped the driver of the Polo, as well as a second vehicle they suspected was with the Polo.

They searched the vehicles and found a number of tools which could be used to break into houses and cars.

Four men aged between 32 and 42 were arrested and detained at the Sea Point police station.

A fingerprint check revealed that two of the suspects were wanted in Durban for the theft of a motor vehicle.
