The fire started just below Talefberg Road on Sunday afternoon before quickly spreading in the direction of Lion’s Head and Signal Hill due to windy conditions which were hampering firefighting efforts.

Homes in Nettleton Road were evacuated.
The City made available an emergency shelter at the Clifton Community Hall.
