Telkom’s Sea Point store has been hit twice in the space of a week.
The first incident happened on Thursday May 31, and the second one on Tuesday June 5.
Sea Point police spokesperson, Captain Elizabeth Munro, said both incidents were armed robberies during which firearms were used. No injuries or fatalities were reported and cases of robbery with aggravating circumstances were opened.
Captain Munro said the suspects fled the scene with boxes containing Huawei cellphones and modems.
No arrests have been made thus far and the investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, at a community police forum (CPF) meeting on Monday June 11. The community discussed how they could encourage residents to report all crimes to police rather than posting them on social media.
CPF chairperson Heather Tager, said this was to ensure that the police were aware of all incidents.
Police also reported that there had been an increase in theft from vehicles, with criminals gaining access by breaking car windows.
The CPF has again once again, emphasised the importance of not leaving valuables visible in vehicles.
