Three men were arrested for assault at the Culemborg safe space on the Foreshore.
In one incident, two men, aged 37 and 47, were arrested on charges of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm after they assaulted another man at the Culemborg safe space on Friday April 16.
In a separate incident on the same day, a 29-year-old man was arrested for assault and common robbery of a fellow resident at the safe space.
Over the weekend members of the SAPS crime prevention unit made 30 arrests for drug-related offences and confiscated drugs with a street value of R6 000. The arrests were made in Lower Long, Waterkant and Commercial streets in the city centre.
On Saturday, April 17, members of the WatchTower Group assisted in the arrest of a man who broke into a resident’s vehicle in Green Point.
The security company’s CCTV Monitoring System alerted operators to a suspicious man who had opened the door to a parked vehicle in the road.
Operators immediately dispatched Avenue Response Team and the SAPS who responded to the scene.
Armed Response officers caught the suspect inside the vehicle and handed him over to the Sea Point Police who detained him on charges of attempted theft out of a motor vehicle.
