A man believed to be in his 40s, was injured on Friday July 13 when his vehicle crashed off a cliff on Victoria Road in Camps Bay.
According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, paramedics and emergency services arrived on the scene and found a light motor vehicle at the bottom of a small cliff lying on its side. “A man was found lying trapped inside. Metro Rescue and Fire Services had to use specialised equipment to free the patient, (in) an operation lasting 45 minutes,” he said.
Once freed, paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained moderate injuries. The man was treated for his injuries and was thereafter transported to New Somerset Hospital for further treatment.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
