■ Twenty Table Mountain National Park volunteers successfully completed a year-long training programme. The aim of which was to equip each participant with knowledge and skills on mountain safety, laws, tourism, and trail guiding and conservation as well as on environmental education. TMNP park manager, Lesley Ann Meyer commended both the trainers and her staff for making themselves available to enrich the lives of young people. “Moreover a special commendation for the volunteers who committed a year of their lives to enrich themselves and who the park can now call upon if additional eyes and ears are required. I am very proud of your hard work,” she said. Pictured are the graduates, trainers and TMNP staff celebrating the success of the 2016/2017 TMNP volunteer training programme. Some of the graduates had never been on the mountain before they started the training programme.
