On Monday September 23, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – landed in Cape Town and will be here until Wednesday October 2. On Heritage Day, Tuesday September 24, they were welcomed to Bo-Kaap by Imam Sheikh Ismail Londt, Muslim community leader Mohamed Groenwald and crowds of residents as they made their way to Auwal Masjid, the oldest mosque in South Africa, established in 1794. The aim of the visit was to promote an understanding of different faiths.
