Capetonians came out in their numbers to take part in the inaugural Challenge Cape Town which started in Table View and ended in Gardens at the weekend. The first installment of the triathlon attracted athletes from 20 countries. Despite the top spots in the men’s and women’s categories going to international athletes, Cape Town had its fair share of athletes in the top 10 in both gender categories.
Matt Trautman had to settle for bronze after a sprint finish saw him cross the line just 3 seconds short of a gold medal.
