Hamilton RFC moved to third spot in the Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) Super League A (SLA) with a victory against UCT at the weekend.

The final score at the hooter was 34-25 for the home side at the Stephen Oval in Green Point.

Tries from Dante Burger, Eagan van der Rheede, 2, Christiaan Zietsman, and Damian Rawstorne made all the difference.

Three conversions and one penalty kicked by flyhalf, Conor van Eden were enough to give the Green Point side their seventh win in 12 outings.

UCt tries came from Ulrich Wahl, Thaaquib Ryland, 2, and Ntoko Makhaza.

Hamilton have two games remaining away to Hamlets this coming Saturday and then Maties a week later.

Hamilton RFC will be participating in the inaugural Amateur Club Rugby World Cup held in France from September 22 to 30 . The side will be competing in Pool B against Ennis RFC (Ireland), Oban Lorne Rugby (Scotland), GFP Rugby Club (Romania) and Kolomotu’a Rugby Club (Tonga) in Saint Raphael.
