A 38-year old American woman has been reported missing.
Julie Goodness was last seen in Bellevue Street, Higgovale on Monday April 24 around 7.45am. She was last seen wearing a purple/pink long-sleeve sports top, blue jeans and colourful sneakers and a black puffer jacket. She was also seen carrying a tote bag
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie told the Cape Times a search was under way in the Table Mountain area.
“Cape Town Central SAPS has opened a missing’s person file and commenced with a multi-disciplinary search for the missing 38-year-old who was last seen leaving her place of accommodation Monday, April 24 at about 7.45am.
“It is reported that she left with a bag and was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, hiking shoes and a navy blue K-Way jacket.
“Search and Rescue from the police and volunteers are combing the Table Mountain area in an attempt to trace the missing lady,“ Lieutenant-Colonel Pojie said.
Ms Goodness is about 1.6m tall and weighs about 50kg. She has dark brown hair and blue/grey eyes and she wears her hair usually in a ponytail.
According to social media posts, Ms Goodness is a trail runner who may have been in the mountains.
Her disappearance is the second recent missing persons incident of a foreign national with the search continuing for missing German tourist, Nick Frischke who went missing in the Hangberg area in Hout Bay in February.
According to reports Mr Frischke family offered up a reward last week of R20 000 for anyone with information regarding his disappearance.
