A man was arrested in Tamboerskloof for breaking into vehicles on Sunday February 7.
Armed Response in partnership with Tamboerskloof Watch were alerted by a resident about a man who had been peering into vehicles on Belle Ombre Road.
When they arrived, they caught the man breaking the window of a vehicle and he was handed over to the police.
In Bo-Kaap, during an anti-crime operation at the Kraal on Saturday February 6, a 32-year-old man was caught red-handed dealing drugs.The suspect was arrested and the drugs were confiscated. During this operation, two men were also arrested for being in possession of car breaking implements.
In Sydney Street, Green Point, during a stop-and-search operation, a man was arrested for dealing drugs. The drugs and money were confiscated by the police.
In Sea Point, an armed response officer was dispatched to investigate suspicious activity along Upper Rhine Road. Cape Town South district manager at Fidelity ADT, Jade Hanning, said they were alerted by a resident about a person walking up and down the road.
When the officer arrived on the road, he encountered the person in question and then discovered that he had been injured. He told them that he had been stabbed by a mugger at a nearby ATM. The officer alerted the monitoring centre and asked that the police and an ambulance be dispatched immediately.
“Our officer waited with the injured person until the ambulance arrived, but the victim refused medical care. Sea Point SAPS also soon arrived and they took over the investigation into the incident,” he said.
No one has been arrested and the police are investigating the matter.
