A Mouille Point pensioner has turned a piece of dried out council land into a beautiful garden on Bay Road, Mouille Point.
Leon Boyd said he did this during the first lockdown which was announced in March last year.
He didn’t buy any plants, but used cuttings and was sure to feed the soil with compost.
Then, he got to work taking care of the garden.
He said he’s always enjoyed gardening and had had a big garden at home before moving to the area, 19 years ago.
“I needed something to do and keep myself occupied during lockdown and I thought it would be a great idea to beautify this land,” he said.
He said he’s been receiving positive feedback from people walking by. “People are so impressed with this and it makes me feel great. It’s beautiful and I spend a lot of time here,” he said.
