The production of Kipper and the Story Book or Vlooi en die Storieboek will be staged at the Artscape from Monday August 12 to Friday August 30, at 9.30am and 11am every weekday.
Kipper can’t understand why Biff doesn’t want to play soccer with him, all because he is reading a stupid book. Their argument triggers the magic key and transports them to the magical realm where all stories are born. To find his way back home, Kipper will have to learn why stories are so important, and what happens to little children who refuse to read.
The show was produced by Marinda Engelbrecht and Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck of Krazy Katz in conjunction with the Artscape and Oxford University Press.
The Afrikaans shows are from Monday August 12 to Friday August 16; Wednesday August 28 to Friday August 30 and Monday September 2. The English shows are from Monday August 19 to Friday August 23; Monday August 26 and Tuesday August 27.
Tickets cost R75 or R60 for block bookings. Call Louise Engelbrecht on 071 688 3033 or email marinda.vlooi@gmail.com to book.
