An elderly woman was airlifted from Beach Road, Sea Point, after she became ill, on Friday April 15.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after receiving reports of a woman in distress.
“On arrival, paramedics found the woman lying in her car, parked on Beach Road. The patient was being treated by an off-duty doctor. Paramedics began their assessment and found the woman to be in a serious condition. Treatment and advanced life support intervention were performed on the patient before she was airlifted by the AMS Helicopter,” said Mr Meiring.
The patient was transported to Mediclinic Milnerton for urgent treatment.
In another incident, a woman was airlifted off Table Mountain after she fell and injured her leg on Wednesday April 13.
The AMS helicopter was called to airlift the woman from the mountain as paramedics were unable to reach her.
“Once rescued, the patient was delivered to awaiting ER24 paramedics on the road. Assessments showed that the woman had sustained serious injuries to her leg and required immediate treatment,” said Mr Meiring.
The patient was transported by ER24 ambulance to Mediclinic Cape Town for further treatment.
