Author Sara-Jayne Makwala King launched her second book, Mad Bad Love, at the Book Lounge on her birthday – Monday August 1.
In 2017, her moving memoir Killing Karoline was shortlisted for the University of Johannesburg Debut Prize for South African Writing.
The popular radio personality, who lives in Wynberg, was recently reunited with her long-lost father, nearly 40 years after she was given up for adoption as a baby.
In her latest book she makes the bold move of delving into her own addition and that of her partner, the “love of my life”.
The book is published by Melinda Ferguson who was in conversation with the author. After the launch, Book Lounge owner Mervyn Sloman and his staff presented Sara-Jayne with a cake.
Mr Sloman said they tried a couple of book launches during lockdown but had been restricted in capacity. Mad Bad Love was their second post-lockdown launch – the first was Sean Davison’s The Price of Mercy on Tuesday July 5.
