Paws fund-raiser

The Paws on the Promenade fund-raiser walk takes place in Sea Point later this month.

The third annual Paws on the Promenade – a dog-walk fund-raiser in aid of Khayelitsha’s Mdzananda Animal Clinic – will be held on the Sea Point promenade on Sunday February 18, at 9am.

The 5km route is from the Mouille Point lighthouse to the Sea Point swimming pool and back. There are shorter turnaround points for old, tired and injured pets (or humans).

Marcelle du Plessis, fund-raising and communications manager and event organiser, said: “Our 2017 Paws on the Promenade was a great success with an attendance of 271 dogs and 368 humans.”

You can book a stray pet to join you on the walk by emailing

Tickets cost R40 a person and R40 a dog and are available on Quicket at Email to pre-register. Registration on the day will start at 8am.

Dress like your pet or wear something orange.
