Cape Town has joined the likes of Barcelona, Dubai, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Sydney and London after the launch of the iVenture City pass last week.
The iVenture City Pass is a “smart card” offering visitors entry or discounts at multiple attractions.
CEO of Cape Town Tourism, Enver Duminy said they supported the initiative. “The iVenture Cape Town City Pass will be of value to international and local visitors, as well as people who live in the city who want to explore.
“Cape Town Tourism needed an international partner for the City Pass, iVenture is an international company with many years of experience, having successfully rolled out city pass cards in 15 major cities across the world.”
David Henwood, the CEO of iVenture, said: “iVenture City Pass enables its holders to access over 60 of the city’s top tourist attractions – as well as several hot spots off the beaten track.
“It’s a great opportunity for tourism-related businesses to partner to establish a unique offering, which will inspire visitors to do more, see more and ultimately share their experiences with others. One of the benefits of the iVenture City Pass is to provide a marketing platform to increase exposure to both international and domestic tourists, which will assist to increase foot traffic over the medium term.”
He said that extensive research was done into the sector before introducing the product.
“It became clear to us that there was an opportunity to introduce a product of this nature, which would facilitate enhanced visitor experiences by showcasing what Cape Town and its surrounds has to offer. It is a great opportunity to promote our top tourist attractions as well as those lesser known gems, of which we have many.”
The pass can be found at places such as Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Two Oceans Aquarium, Groot Constantia Wine Estate, and the City Sightseeing “Hop On Hop Off” bus.
