A man, believed to be in his 50s, was killed on Sunday April 15, following a collision between a motorbike and two light motor vehicles on Victoria Road in Camps Bay.
According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, paramedics along with Life Healthcare and Fire Services arrived on the scene around 1pm and found one light motor vehicle and a motorbike lying on the side of the road. The body of the biker was found a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
In efforts to stabilise his condition, Mr Meiring said treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated.
Once treated, the man was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
However, the patient’s vital signs rapidly diminished en route to hospital and despite the paramedics’ efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries. Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of this incident.
