Daniel Prozesky will give a recital for the Richard Wagner Society of South Africa on Sunday November 27 at Kingsgate, 301 Beach Road, Sea Point, at 6pm.
He’ll be accompanied by Francois du Toit on piano in a programme of French works by Widor, Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Debussy, Chausson and Milhaud.
Prozesky has been principal clarinet of the Cape Town Philharmonic since 2015. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and, from the Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland, in music with distinction.
He also studied for a Professional Diploma in Music in Lausanne under Frederic Rapin. He performed widely in Switzerland before returning to South Africa in 2011.
Daniel is also an ardent chamber musician, being a member of the MYOS Ensemble for clarinet, piano and cello, and giving performances at Aardklop, KKNK and Klein Karoo Klassique music festivals.
Francois du Toit is acknowledged as one of South Africa’s leading concert pianists and musicians and is an Associate Professor of Piano and Head of Practical Studies at the University of Cape Town.
He is well known to Cape Town audiences for his regular performances with the CPO, most recently his interpretation of the Schumann Piano Concerto and, over two nights, all five Beethoven Concerti to celebrate his 50th birthday.
Tickets, which include wine and a finger buffet after the recital cost R240 for members and R260 for guests.
