Camerata Tinta Barocca will present a concert of baroque music to celebrate the launch of the 2019 Cape Town Baroque Festival (CTBF).
The 60-minute concert on Wednesday July 3 at Youngblood Gallery, in Bree Street, will give a taste of what to expect at this year’s festival and brings together long-time festival musicians, including sopranos Lynelle Kenned and Elsabé Richter; Annien Shaw and Refiloe Olifant on baroque violins; Emile de Roubaix on baroque viola; and Joshua Frank on recorder. The programme will be directed from the harpsichord by CTBF artistic director Erik Dippenaar.
They will play music by Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Handel, Bach and Uccellini among others.
The restaurant at Youngblood will be open for food and drinks from 6.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.
